When i try to boot up with the 2.6.8 or 2.6.8-r1 kernels i get errors saying it cant find my superblock on my storage drive and on my root partition, it also gives an error about the video mode that is set up in grub, anyone have any ideas what i could do to fix this?
also, when is the bootsplash patch supposed to be put into 2.6.8 and in changelog it said some of the x86_64 patches werent put in, does that mean x86 AND 64? if so, whats in that patch that i could possibly need _________________ I will not fear.

No, x86_64 specifically refers to the archetecture of the AMD64 processors |

what filesystem are you using, and are you sure you have support for that filesystem compiled into your kernel? it sounds like a stupid question but I have done it before lol. |

Is it a SATA or PATA contoller?`
They changed the drivers for SATA in the 2.6.8er kernel. |

Yeah there is a new option for older sata drives under ata drivers instead of under scsi drivers, you might want to try that. |
