Hullo
I want to make a gentoo stage 1 installation, but i failed to connect to the internet. The system is connected to a server which than is connected to the internet.
I tried
ipconfig eth0 192.168.0.66 broadcast 192.168.0.255 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
route add default gw 192.168.0.1
the system should have the ip 192.168.0.66 and the server has the ip 192.168.0.1
But I cant even ping the server (192.168.0.1)
has anyone an idea why? |

I'm assuming ipconfig is a typo, to start with...
Anyway, is the module for your network card loaded? _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |

jp, ipconfig is an typing mistake, and yes the network card has been found by the kernel. |
