I have a microsoft whell mouse optical usb and ps/2. its hooked up through ps/2 converter and knoppix loads it up on /dev/psaus. It says its a generic mouse ps/2 whell mouse. gentoo doesn't load it at all. everything that says mouse is enabled in my kernel. also I've tried every type of driver in xorg, like ImPS/2, EXPLORERPS/2 and PS/2. Nothing, there is a cursor but its not moving. i did a cat /dev/psaux, nothing was on the screen at all. whats the deal? |

i emerged, started, and nothing dmesg says "mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice" but i cat each mouse device that should work and nothing come through and x i've tried it all like i've said. I enabled apci in teh kernel to see if i just wasn't catching it but nothing. just wierd the live cd and knoppix both saw it as a generic ps/2 mouse but after the install, blah, nothing, zip. its geting late. its a kt600 chipset if that helps. oh and i have tried a logitech mouse, same thing no go. |
