Hi,
I've recently installed Gentoo on my laptop. My Computer is a Toshiba Laptop Satellite 2710DVD with a Trident Cyber 9525DVD graphics adapter. Pretty much everything is running perfectly except for the folling problem: When I try to watch a DivX movie I see parts of the movie on the left side which is suppossed to be right. Previously I have been running RH and Suse whereas RH produced the same strange thing. Only under Suse 8.0/8.1 there were no such problems.
Through various newsgroups I found out, that the problem is caused by the Trident Video Driver in XFree 4.x. Now my question is, if there is solution to above mentioned issue or a way to get the Suse driver inplemented in the Gentoo installation?
Here is the relevant information from my XF86Config:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Trident"
Driver "trident"
VideoRam 2560
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection
Thanks for your help
