Which IDS ? (Intrusion Detection System)

Which IDS is the best ? Either commercial or open source ?

I know snort and also the commercial "PureSecure" from Demarc. Is there anay other ? Is "PureSecure" it's money worth ?

I thought PureSecure uses Snort... with a fancy Frontend (basically a more colorfull ACID + a crippled netsaint (now nagios))

puresecure does indeed use snort. And I have to say, the standard configuration is nothing that you can be proud of. I think you will have more benefit from investing time in how you can configure snort well, than investing in money for puresecure
