Cheap modem queries

I'm looking at buying a cheap modem to go in a computer I'm building for someone. The cheapest I've found uses this chipset: http://www.modem-help.co.uk/chips/amb563.html
Unfortunately I've had trouble finding out the availability of drivers for the 2.6 series of kernel. Does anyone know about the support for this chipset? Can recommend a cheap modem that works well under linux?

Try to found cheaper modem with Rockwell chipset, it will work stable and Rockwell is supported from 2.0.28
