Ever had a mysterious error message when emerging something? Maybe the end of it looks like this:

!!! ERROR: portage-category/program failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 29, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)

I have a few times. It's hard to search for a solution to a problem when there's not much to go on.

Some of my problems that had mysterious emerge error messages included:

-Not having enough swap space allocated
-trying to build svgalib (there's apparently a magic solution to this one)
-trying to emerge sg3_utils.

Do you people have solutions to mysterious or vague emerge error messages that you would like to share? It may help in the future.
