Warcraft III and wine

I installed warcraft iii and the frozen throne with wine. everything worked fine until now.
i tried to play a few games with my friends after a long time and the game get VERY slow after a few minutes of playing.
the first minutes - absolutely fine. then - hanging, skipping and so on.

could this be temperature related?

its very hot here in germany these days...

You should try to detect, whether your CPU throttles or not. As far as I know, in case you are using KDE, you can try to use the System Monitor and select there the CPU frequency sensor. Problem is, that I am not sure if this frequency values is updated when the CPU throttles or if this is simply showing the max. frequency. At least worth a try if no one else has another idea.

Do you have lmsensors working? It would be very intersting to know the cpu temp. Is this a laptop?

yes this is a laptop. it really seems to be heat related as i can play a full game (i didnt try more than one) with my brand new vent

lmsensors are not running...
