look for paul compton's post 2 pages back, because this is his binary
as for worms... i can handle that, but there are many win boxes on my lan (and i don't any more time to fix them) and so from time to time this happens
thx anyway _________________ Cand nu stii ce sa raspunzi sau ce sa spui un simplu BLA ajunge... lolz |

sorry, mislead you,
i don't have any more PaulCompton version, instead you've downloaded jhr0771's binary build for P3 (see previous page), but i also have a athlon-tbird binary if that helps you _________________ Cand nu stii ce sa raspunzi sau ce sa spui un simplu BLA ajunge... lolz |

Anyone who wants my version should send me a private message with details of where I should upload it. I don't want to put it back up on my server, because it took me over my monthly gigabyte limit in just a few days last time - so many people downloaded it. Anyone who has heaps of bandwidth and wants to host it, let me know. Just to recap, it is +gtk +gnome -kde -qt and for ARCH=athlon-xp
ciao

hey got it thanks
Paul: i need a pentium3 gtk -kde-qt the probs is that i am running 2.6 headers kernel 2.6.8-r9 with NPTL , gcc 3.4 and reiserfs 4 after reading and searching i discovered that ximian-openoffice would NOT compile at all.. so i was wondering if someone managed to get a binary compiled under similar conditions and would post it .
I dont have the processing power to compile and tinker with this sucker otherwise I would make my own binary, plain pentium3 no cflags no USE=....but on my P3 it will probably take 4 to 5 days...danm and i need it now for work ..(hate microsuck crap)
i'm gonna try tetzz and see if it works.
thanks a lot guys _________________ if it aint broken..... then... what the heck are you waiting for? ...go mess with it and see if you can make it better |

Gotcha. I am using 2.4.26 and gcc 3.3.4. So mine wouldn't do much good. Pleased to see you ain't messing with the kde... that environment just uses up so much processing power, even a 2GHz machine suffers big time with it. It is a nice idea, but just too bloated. Sometimes I fantasise about going back to WM... I wonder how oo.org would function under that?

It took me about 18 hours, I think, but that's on an Athlon-XP running at almost 2GHz (i.e. a 2400+... strange numbering) with 512MB. Not a blisteringly fast machine any more, but it does what I need.
Good luck.

well you have downloaded from me the Pentium 3 binary (i also have a pure gcc-3.4 system so there was no way for me either to compile openoffice) so you should be more than ok; the binary for openoffice-ximian that i use was also compiled by someone in this thread and it is for athlon-tbird with kde support _________________ Cand nu stii ce sa raspunzi sau ce sa spui un simplu BLA ajunge... lolz |

you emerge the file directly or the package cat and --usepkg
i only ask b/c emerge errors out with a different package name than the binary package |

you have to edit the filename to: openoffice-ximian-1.3.5.tbz2 and emerge it like:
Code: | emerge -K =openoffice-ximian-1.3.5 |

That doesn't make much sense, why not emerge:
emerge -K =app-office/openoffice-ximian-1.3.5-r1 |

emerge -K =app-office/openoffice-ximian-1.3.5-r1 | because he downloaded from me openoffice-ximian-1.3.5 not openoffice-ximian-1.3.5-r1 _________________ Cand nu stii ce sa raspunzi sau ce sa spui un simplu BLA ajunge... lolz |
