i followed the Gentoo Guide but i keep getting errors about grub:

Knoppix / # cp /proc/mounts /etc/mtab
Knoppix / # grub-install --root-directory=/boot /dev/hda
Could not find device for /boot/boot: Not found or not a block device.
Knoppix / # grub-install --root-directory= /dev/hda
Could not find device for /boot: Not found or not a block device.

my partition are:
/dev/hda1 swap
/dev/hda2 root
also, do i need to configure hda2 as bootable partition in fdisk?

grub > root (hd0,1)
grub > setup (hd0)
grub > quit
