Just yesterday I re-emerged my kdemultimedia (3.3.0) with USE="cdparanoia", and since then my amaroK seems to be broken. It won't display any ogg/mp3 tags (title, artist, etc.) anymore, but only the filename. Tag editing won't work anymore, either. The tags still display correctly in juK and xmms, so it's really an amaroK problem. I tried reemerging and downgrading to an older version, but to no avail. :(

Any ideas?

Just an update - amaroK is still showing very strange behavior with respect to tags. When I start amaroK (I set it to "resume playback on start"), it always displays the first song correctly, with artist, title etc., both in the player window and in the OSD, but not in the playlist! For consecutive songs, only the filename is displayed, and amaroK acts as if it knows nothing about artist, title, etc.

I know the problem is not with my music files, since juK, and previously amaroK as well, show the info perfectly fine.

Anyone have similar problems? Or am I really the only one experiencing this?

I deleted the contents of ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc, and now amaroK seems to work fine again.

Why didn't I think of that earlier?
