|
|
Whenever i go from filemanager-mode to webbrowsing mode the Google-Search-Bar (which is IMHO completely useless anyway) pops up. I removed everything in "configure-toolbars"->"Location Toolbar <searchbar>" but its still looking the same.
And there is no entry for it in Settings-Toolbars, even when i remove all toolbars its still there.
Anyone got an idea?

Hi!
You must save the webbrowsing profile after disabling the google-search-bar (Configure Toolbars -> Location Bar <searchbar> -> remove "Search Bar").
Hope it helps...

The problem is, when i remove the Search-Bar from the Location-Bar it will pop up in its own window (which is especially bad for me cause i use a fullscreen-WM).
But when i leave the Searchbar inside the Location-Bar its part of it (of course) and just wasting a little space but i can live with that.
I just didn't know it pops up a new window because i deleted it from the Location-Bar. |

I just right-clicked on the toolbar, then clicked on "Configure toolbars..."
In the toolbar combobox on the top, you have to select "Location toolbar <searchbar>
Then remove "Search bar" from the right listbox.
Maybe you have to save your profile, I don't remember this anymore.
But the bar never reappareared with me. |

i think it is part of kdeaddons, so perhaps some DO_NOT_COMPILE reemerging magic of kdeaddons will help _________________ what up |

I can verify this does work and is the correct procedure. No emerge voodoo to eliminate a few bits of code needed. You don't need to save your profile either. |
