I'm running bind on my home network and so far it's been doing the job well. One of the things I've used it for is resolving names for clients' computers (so that I type in a happy subdomain instead of having to remember their ip addresses when I do remote admin).
One of these clients has switched to a service that doesn't have fixed IP, so I have added his computer to my dyndns.org custom dns account. Problem is dyndns manages a domain with the identical name as my internal network's domain. Even tho I have removed the subdomain from my internal zone file, computers on my internal network still resolve to the old fixed IP I had in that zone file.
My server running bind has been rebooted subsequent to this change.
What do I need to do to get rid of this cached resolution? _________________ But the situation seemed to call for witty repartee. "Huh?" I said. |
