ok i have succesfully installed linux and emerged gnome but now my mouse doesnt work. so this is my next problem. I have researched it on the forums and it seems the easy fix is to edit the xf86conf file in /etc/X11 but my only problem is that i dont have that file in my X11 directory. so i am wondering what is up. let me know what you think thanks |

If you have X server installed and no XF86config file then you have xorg.conf file in /etc/X11
You are running Xorg version of X server not XF86.
So edit your xorg.conf file, or just run xorgconfig from console and set up again X.
If it says that command not found, then run it as root from Code: | /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig |
