Hi everyone,

I have no idea whatsoever what is happening here. I'll attempt to describe breifly and post what I *think* might be relevant. Im around all day, so if you need more info, just say ;)

The Problem
I dont seem to be able to connect to my machine remotely. I cant ssh into my external IP, I cant ping the external IP and although I clearly have a connection, it just appears somthing is not right.

The Environment
2 machines on a netgear router [83.88.179.12 (ext ip) | 192.168.0.2 (mine) | 192.168.0.3 (wifes) ]
I have iptables but it's NOT running

Port Forwarding
Code:

1   armyops   1716   1716   192.168.0.2
     2   gamequery   1717   1717   192.168.0.2
     3   masterquery   1718   1718   192.168.0.2
     4   utquery   8777   8777   192.168.0.2
     5   gamespy   27900   27900   192.168.0.2
     6   authserver   20045   20045   192.168.0.2
     7   HTTP   80   80   192.168.0.2

WAN Settings
Code:

Tilslut automatisk forbindelsen efter behov

Deaktiver SPI-firewall

Anvend DMZ    ...

Svar på ping på WAN-port

All of the above are "checked" - no sp firewall, dmz running to the .02 IP and listen for ping on WAN port

Right, anyone have any ideas?

Much thx....

Nick

Are you saying you can't ssh from the outside to the router or to the computers behind it?

OK, I can't acess your http server. If you don't mind I will scan you and see how things look from the outside.

But I have to admit I am not sure what your original question was. What exactly does not work?

<edit>
Seems that none of your ports are open externally. Possibly because of your ISP.
</edit>

I reset the router, seemed to do the trick.... ;)

Much thanks for the help, i'd be very interested to know how you 'scanned' me? - pm me if it's sensitive....

thanks again...

No. Since I did it with your implied approval there is nothing to hide.
There is a program called nmap. It is one of the ultimate tools for both defense and offense. It is trivial to use once you take the 2.5 minutes it takes to read the help, and it will tell you exactly the state of any network, including your own.
