Hi,

I would like to be able to compile from source without emerge for some packages. How do I add the program to the dependency list of emerge?

I would also like to be able to do the same with RPMS and DPKG and tar.gz files.

Is there a version of Apt-get with gentoo?

I've installed the debian tools (dpkg is in portage, etc) but I've never run a Debian system for longer than it takes to install Gentoo from it. I'm actually curious about this question, as I would like to convert my Indy to some form of Debian to save its limited processing power, et cetera.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.
