Hello,
I just want to get rid of the free (and low-quality) Turboprint-drivers and use the Canon drivers for this printer from their japanese Website.
I followed that instrcutions here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=94604&highlight=canon+howto
I installed the right drivers and I am using the Parallel Port with status readback for BJ (as CUPS calls it).
The printer is connected via lp0, I habe no USB-cabel available.
When I want to print, nothing happens (it says that it is processing) and after some time I get the message "Parallel port busy; will retry in 30 seconds..." .
The error_log gives no usable information even with log-level "debug".
I cannot configure the printer, the KDE-printingmanager displays a internal-server-error.
The Turboprint drivers worked once, but they are low-qualtiy if I don't want to pay 25$. _________________ Just unused Microsoft-Software is good Microsoft-Software |
