Hi!
I have a little problem:
I initialize my internet connection with a init-script (/etc/speedtouch start)... I can't use KPPP to go online, because I have a USB modem, which has to be initialized and so on... but it would be nice if I see if there is an internet connection or not in the taskbar, maybe with the possibility to disconnect and show the online time and so on...
Do you know a tool, which I can use? Thank you very very much, Yours Lockheed |

One of the best tools to do monitoring stuff in X is gkrellm. It has lots of features and it's very useful ... but it's not a taskbar program.
Otherwise you could try kmodemlights, which is a kde taskbar applet (you wrote about kppp so I assume you run kde) which should do exactly what you're looking for
You can find it here:
