std fluxbox emerged
std aterm emerged
std gnome-terminalled emerged
(was going to try out gnome2, found out that is the worst desktop i have ever looked at/experienced, and is not finished removing it yet, but that is another story:)
anyways,
everything works, to a certain extent (100% transparency works).
transparency WORKS, but whenever i turn on shading i get a flat fill color instead of transparency, if i turn shading off again, transparency works.
this is only an issue in fluxbox as shading worked well enough in gnome2 (nothing else did though).
ideas anyone? |

what program are you using to set your background? some programs do not have the right extensions to do transparency properly. i use Esetroot provided by the eterm ebuild and i have no problems with transparency. it's worth a try. _________________ System: Thinkpad T30, P4-m 1.8GHz, 1024MB RAM

bsetbg is just a shell script wrapper for various commands that can set the background picture. You should emerge xv or Eterm to get either xv or Esetroot and then use bsetbg or either of the previous commands directly to set your background. Then your transparency + shading should work like a charm. |
