the same problem again and again. i have usb smartmedia cardreader. using devfs. booting with reader connected, card inserted. everything works fine. booting w/o card inserted - it's no way to mount card's filesystem. it doesn't detect media insertion.
it is not a problem with reader! when booting w/ card inserted - it DOES detect card removal and insertion.
device node for the reader:
/dev/sd/c2b0t0u0
device node for card inserted:
/dev/sd/c2b0t0u0p1
when card is NOT insterted during boot the second device node is NOT created.
i hate reboots. of course i can reconnect the reader, but this causes it's detection as a NEW scsi device, making my fstab entry unusable. i can mount manually, but... hm... my wife can't :) _________________ gentoo rulez :) |
