What is 'taper'? Could you please provide a link to the project page? Maybe I could write an ebuild for it if it's not in portage yet. _________________ "To have a successful open source project, you need to be at least somewhat successful at getting along with people." -- Daniel Robbins |

hi there,
http://taper.sourceforge.net/
i have no idea about building ebuilds, but if you are familiar with this it should be easy. all you need after downloading the tar.gz is "make", "make install". not even ./configure was needed.
i installed it yesterday, and it works alright here. no problems whatsoever noticed. for me (x86) it is stable.
while you are hooked.. there is another handy tool wich is not available for gentoo:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software3/COL1977/co-20842-2/hp_ltt35_linux.tar
unfortunately no source. description:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11591_div/11591_div.html
it is an RPM, i downloaded the redhat version. well, what i did is simply extracting the RPM and cp the contents (complete /opt/ltt directory) over to my disk. it works .
this software is very helpfull if you are in trouble with your HP DAT streamer.
PS: Oberhausen? das ebuild koennte ich mir fast zu fuss abholen <g>. |
