Recently I switched to 2.6.8-ck4 kernel and now when system boots up it takes 5 seconds after I enter username and password to login. Before that I had gentoo-2.6.5 kernel and it didn't take that long. Maybe I need to recompile some packages?

Oh, I finally found out what the problem was. Each time I was logging in, it tried to insert the floppy driver (and I don't have a floppy drive). Adding
to /etc/modules.d/aliases solved the problem. |
