Hello,
I needed to add a small option to my kernel the kernel unloading module support.
So I ssh in my box and then
Code: | cd /usr/src/linux-gentoo-2.6.7-r11
make menuconfig
*** I enabled the unloading module support then saved and quit ***
make
make modules_install
|
then cp the new bzimage in /boot and edited grub
Then I rebooted, but here is the prbl...
Firstly, if I boot with the new kernel, it fails and gives a nice error! since I only enabled one option, I do not catch much what I made wrong.
BUT then, I tried to reboot with the old kernel, the working one...
This one is booting yes, but the loading of ivtv is failing!
I checked my /etc/modules.d/ivtv, the right config is still there! So what did I do wrong?
did I forget something?
I need help I'm stuck
