What's up with Chromium needing xfree over xorg? I'd like to emerge it but not sure who to get around this since I have xorg and don't want xfree.
Code: |
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] x11-base/xorg-x11 (from pkg x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r6)
[ebuild N ] app-arch/cabextract-0.6
[ebuild N ] x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r6
[ebuild N ] media-libs/smpeg-0.4.4-r4
[ebuild N ] media-libs/openal-20040303
[ebuild N ] games-action/chromium-0.9.12-r5
|
Thanks

I thought that since xorg-x11 is B "blocks" that I would not emerge it. Plus it says that xfree is new and I'm not interested in having both xfree and xorg. |

It's saying that x.org is blocking a new install of xfree.
Are you sure it's chromium has the xfree dependency? Try emerging smpeg and openal on their own to see if they are the real cause. |

Interesting... mine doesn't want xfree at all. I'd suggest checking your /etc/make.profile/virtuals and seeing if that's where it's getting xfree from, except mine's got xfree in there still and hasn't caused any problems. |

I was just trying this and when I did the emerge all it had was chromium, smpeg, and openal. Maybe it was a package problem? I haven't merged anything on that computer since I've tried that.
I know you probably thinking I wonder what that dumb arse was doing. I guess I should have pasted the emerge -p chromium statement with the dependencies list. I guess I could have been doing something wrong but not sure what it would have been.
Thanks for your help anyhow
