another VMWARE ethernet problem..

Hi Dudes,

my current problem is the following:

I guess my kernel and jesus hate me, because i cannot access our ofice-Novell-network, even if all necessary stuff is installed and implemented in my 2.6.8-gentoo-r2 kernel.

So i thought i just might install vmware, install winxp like everyone is using here, and i can copy files on my filesystem.

But Windows seems not to like my ethernetstuff, the ethernet-symbol down right never blinks..

the configureation etc was without errors, i installed XP like i do on real hosts..

anyone any idea?

i tried 3 kernels now.. my fav. love 2.6.8-r4 , gentoo-dev- and gentoo.sources.. none of them work.
