without DGA:
xawtv in overlay shows black screen, and in grabdisplay shows somthing, but the picture is not good
with DGA: running xawtv [and running wine too] causes this: the monitor sais 'no signal' but I can close xawtv, xfree and reboot the system; until reboot the monitor keeps saying 'no signal'...
here's output of xawtv run without DGA:
kristo@mlotek kristo $ xawtv
This is xawtv-3.86, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.8-gentoo-r3)
WARNING: Your X-Server has no DGA support.
WARNING: couldn't find framebuffer base address, try manual
configuration ("v4l-conf -a <addr>")
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
ioctl: VIDIOC_OVERLAY(int=1): Invalid argument
any ideas? thanks in advance.. |

I solved it: I used the drivers in the kernel and xorg instead of ati-drivers |
