Ok .. i am looking for either a link or help here, ifanyone cares to :)

i emerged gento and i ran the xf86config .. when i 'startx' it loads like half of a screen it looks black & white with the x cursor .. no gnome or anything.. is there site that can give me detail info on how to after configure my x server or my gnome so that i can get to a desktop .. thanks ..

yes i have .. here is a bit of the errors i have been getting ..

i have no gui internet .. i wish i could .. i dont even have a mouse .. it doesnt work in console only ..

well actually what i did was upload the file to my server using 'ftp' then send localfile remote file' .. thanks for the idea of ftp...

well since this problem .. i chose to trash this install and try the install on a newer machine rather then th emmx 200mhz i was working with ..

i have installed from stage 1 and all is looking excellent .. so far =-)
