| after some attempts, i got gentoo installed here. ok, it is nice. but i have a modem (LG LM-I56N, a pci modem). i have to download module files, compile them and install. all goes fine, but , when dialing, the modem "repeats" some digits, that way it calling a differente number. is anybody able to give me a hint on it? thanks in advance |

Hi, i got this modem too, what modules do i need to install and make it work? And where can i find it?
Can you explain how can i can compile and install it?

eu peguei um arquivo que funciona como modulo do modem. eh um programa, um software pra simular que o modem ta usando uma porta serial normal...algo assim. o fato eh que, como eh um software a parte, se o processador se ocupar muito (um emerge mozilla por exemplo), a conexao cai. quer dizer, o programa "conexao" cai. eh uma merda. o negocio eh arranjar outro modem mesmo. mas se qusier te dou umas dicas. eh bem simples. so nao lembro do nome exato do arquivo agora pq to no trabalho.
