Under WinXP, when one runs gaim, and someone has said something in a conversation that is minimized, you can set it up so that the window flashes in the taskbar, without actually popping up. I'm running Gnome 2.6, and it seems that I can either have the messages pop up in front of what I'm doing and steal focus (which is obnoxious), or I'm forced to check the window every few seconds to make sure no one has said anything. Is there some way to emulate the XP behavior?

Theres no way to make the taskbar flash, but there is a plugin you can enable to add an * to the taskbar if theres a new msg, or set it to put the number of new msgs also. Its the Message Notification plugin under preferences. _________________ Athlon 64 3200+
