Ich hab hier einen kleinen Router mit 2 NICs, der eigentlich nichts anderes macht, als eth0 gemasqed an eth2 zu forwarden. Die entsprechenden Regeln habe ich mit Shorewall erstellt.
Ein Ping von intern (eth0, rfc1918) nach aussen (eth2) läuft miserabel, entweder timeouts oder extrem hohe Antwortzeiten.
Lasse ich aber zur Diagnose z. B. iptraf laufen, läuft auf einmal alles wie geschmiert. Beende ich iptraf, dann schlafen mir die Füsse ein...
Ich suche dringend Hilfe und bin für jeden Tip dankbar! |

Offenbar liegt es nicht direkt daran, dass ich iptraf laufen habe, sondern dass Traffic über das eth0-Interface direkt an den Router gesendet wird. Auch ein Ping oder ähnliches reduziert die Anzahl der komischen Timeouts...
Hat das schon mal jemand gehabt? |

Interessanterweise tritt das gleiche Phänomen auf, wenn ich den ping lokal auf dem Router laufen lasse. Ohne iptraf -> hohe Pingzeiten, mit iptraf -> normale Pingzeiten...
Ich versteh's nicht wirklich...  |
