my box's name is helium.. My roomate is radon... helium is 192.168.0.100 radon is 192.168.0.101
We use SSH to eachother all of the time.. We both use Gnome.. But we would love love love it if there was an easy way to use eachothers files.. like my /home/music and his /home/movies
Is NFS the best way??? i'm assuming so... i read a little bit about it on tldp but it looked very complicated... i would love it if eventually i could just click an icon on my desktop and be on his folder... is that possible???
I'm not a big fan of Samba.. not trying to start a war... also.. we are wondering if we need to encrypt this connection.. it is just me and him behind a router.. so probably not... could somebody please tell me what my best options are...
And maybe a small howto with the information i provided.. like what my /etc/exports or somethign should look like... |

believe it or not NFS is so easy it's almost scary. samba is a little harder but you get the beifit of winshite users being able to get to your drive. to be honest with you i could show what your /etc/exports file should look like but man you wouldn't learn how to do it, it's like a line per directory you want to share, take a little time and you'll be shocked on how easy it is. _________________ #include <LinuxUser #324070>

if you haven't gotten it out, look for the nfs howto on google...
jjasghar is right, nfs is so increadibly easy to set up its almost laughable.
lucky you for having a roomie who uses linux.
