ok this is the only thing I see wrong when I emerge nvidia-kernel

lsmod shows nothing

modprobe nvidia

tried this forum from search but not sure if I did it right (dont really tell what to do but looks like it may be what I need)

I also tried to download the installer from Nvidia and that also failed

the g-card is e-GeForce FX 5700Ultra, 128MB DDR2
and motherboard is NF7-S

not sure what else to throw in here any help would be great....tell then I continue to search...... or sleep then search....mehh anyway thanks in advance.

no sure what is going on with your kernel but try to recompile it if it gives you the same errors try the last 2.6.8 mm kernel , when i tried 2.6.9 some days ago it also gave some odd errors with modules so i went back.
also try to do a depmod -a , modules-update as root to see if solves anything.

after some fumbling around I got the stuff from this thread to work

I just didnt understand how to make it work (as far as what directory to DL it to and how to untar it) other than that worked great and since that is all my fault you really dont have anything to improve on that I know.
