Ok, I need some help configuring Apache. Apache works fine for browsing. I've even got WebDAV setup on a location, which is just a subdirectory off the document root. What I want to do is allow everyone to browse the server, but I would like to allow WebDAV editing of files on the server. If possible, I just want to limit WebDAV to only be allowed from localhost, the local subnet and an external address. This will allow me to edit my content either locally or from work. I've found examples on how to do this with authorization. I was just wondering if I could do this by the ip address from which the user is accessing the site. I'm lazy. I don't want to have to enter a username and password. Anybody got a suggested configuration for this? |

Well, you could make a subdomain that has the same document root as your website, except you turn webdav on in that subdomain. Then, you could restrict access by IP to that website. Don't have any examples, but that is how i have mine set up.. my server is kinda messed up atm, but i am working on fixing it... Freaking j2ee application servers, gotta mess everything up! _________________ Yup |
