OK here we go again - another (maybe simple) problem to be solved cuz I cannot see my error here.
I have a laptop (Toshiba Satellite 2805-100) and try to get my pcmcia sockets working (cuz I wanna use my wlan card).
My problem is that the i82365 module would return the following error when loading:
Code: | FATAL: Error inserting i82365 (/lib/modules/2.6.8.1/kernel(drivers/pcmcia/i82365.ko) |
and yenta_socket totally freezes the system.
Assumption:
- Kernel vanilla 2.6.8.1 is configured with all pcmcia support + wlan support (orinoco..) (all modules)
- pcmcia-cs is emerged and starts @ boot
Gentoo LiveCD for 2004.2 autoloads the i82365 module and activates the sockets with no problems - so I assume I must have forgotten something in my kernel config for the i82365 to load properly.
This happened after reinstalling my box - it worked before (after hours of work) with a vanilla 2.6.5 kernel but I cannot remember to have anything done in a different way. |
