i have attempted install of gentoo with the following 2 iso cd images,
gentoo-alpha-1.4-20040225.iso
gentoo-alpha-2004.0-20040313.iso
however both only have 2 network adapter modules to choose from.
of course the ones available are not what I have installed in the machine
the 2 network adapters are realtek 8139 and d-link-dfe550tx. I want to
set this machine up as firewall/router/dhcp server. Any ideas where I can
get an iso image for gentoo/alpha that has driver support for more than 2
cards ? Or perhaps pre-compiled modules that I can download and copy
to a floppy disk for modprobe...
Let me know if you need more specific info...
Thanks |

iirc...
the kernel on the iso's just has most of the drivers built into the kernel (eepro100 for sure, probably others) _________________ The power of Unix coupled with a pleasing interface and scores of usable desktop applications is a disgusting perversion of everything Unix stands for. |

I just released a new experimental livecd which includes D-Link DL2000 support - I'm assuming this covers your DGE-550TX card.
The new livecd is called gentoo-alpha-2004.2-20040730.iso and you can find it in the experimental/alpha/livecd directory on the mirrors.
Please file any bugs you might find on https://bugs.gentoo.org so the next livecd can be even better |
