Samba-3.0.14 in production env. / why is 3.0.10 last stable?

Hi,

I have a samba PDC with LDAP and ACLs and several XP SP2 clients.
I currently have samba-3.0.10 installed, but I read in the changelogs that since then a huge number of bug-fixes have been submitted, some of which seem interesting for my set-up.

I noticed that samba versions 3.0.12 and 3.0.13 have disappeared from portage, and 3.0.14a is masked.
My question is: would it be safe to upgrade to 3.0.14a, or are there very important reasons for it to be masked?
