i have linux installed but it wont boot correctly cause i need to add -noieee1394 to the kernel how do i do that? _________________ Thank you to all the people who have provided me with help with linux, and to everyone i have yet to encounter.

Assuming you use grub: you do it permanently by adding it in /boot/grub/grub.conf, to the end of the line which starts 'kernel /kernel-2...'.
But you can test it by pressing 'e' when the grub menu appears, and editing the line there.
If you use lilo, someone else can answer, because I don't know  |
