I know that feeling. Everytime I have to borrow the better looking halfs computer, I get deluged by flash-crap. Some of it's vaguely amusing, but most is just a PITA.
FWIW I don't bother trying to convince companies to minimize flash on their webpages. If I can't access the product easily, I shop else where.
It's only been 2 years... Eventually they'll think 64bit is worth writing for. _________________ This space for rent... Well maybe to give away.. Heck.. i'll pay you to take it.

I emerged gplFlash for my amd64 system, and tried running firefox, but I keep getting an error:
Code: | LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /opt/netscape/plugins/npflash.so [/opt/netscape/plugins/npflash.so: undefined symbol: __dso_handle]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib64/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so [/usr/lib64/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]
|
And when i goto about:plugins in firefox, flash isn't there
ne ideas? |

ne ideas? | On a hunch, did you compile gplflash with a different version of GCC than you did firefox? __dso_handle is apparently a C++ globals constructor, and trying to use libraries and executables compiled from different versions of GCC caused many strange C++ linking problems that went away after I used the same gcc. _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here

I don't get it - it's almost a year - how long can it take to port such a thing? |

did it as well... I was considering mentioning that my college uses linux exclusively for the CS lab, and there are a few 64 bit machines, but other than web-browsing, there's not much use...
If only we had linux 64 bit at work I coulda asked for it, 'cuz we use flash for tutorials.
I'll see if I can get one of my professors to put in a request from the school itself. That might have more weight. _________________ The world could be destroyed by a nuclear war and there'll still be Keith Richards with 5 cockroaches: "You know I smoked your uncle right?
