Hi
I'm using a Compaq presario 2500 and trying to boot from the LiveCD. When it begins loading modules the system just sits there scanning for ieee1394...............does anyone know a work around, please?
Thanks! |

I was having the same problem. I found that by using the 2004.1 LiveCD I was able to get it installed ok, and due to the fact you update during install anyway, it dosnt really matter. Just be sure to do a "rmmod eth1394" or your internet wont work. |

Thanks - I've been temporarily using debian, but I'll give it another go as it sounds as if there's a fix. |

It doesn't matter which livecd you use - apart from providing the environment to install from, it has no bearing on the installed system at all. I still use a 2004.0 livecd if I ever have to reinstall, and a lot of people swear by knoppix instead. _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |
