CFlags for a64 in 32-bit?

Well, I've got an ati card, and dont' want to deal with the hassle of linux32 etc, so I'm choosing to use my a64 system in full 32-bit mode. What is a good set of cflags to use?

cflags= "-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"

?? anything else I should/shouldn't have? Keep in mind I'm looking for systemwide cflags, I'll do things like apply O3 to packages taht need it.
