I'm trying to use realplayer 10 to listen to online radio, but I'm running into difficulties. The clip buffers and appears to be playing, but I get no sound. The preferences don't seem to have any helpful settings. I'm using alsa. Do I have to enable OSS emulation? I figured if that was the case it would give me the good old "device not fournd or in use" message. Any guidance would be appreciated. Alternatively, is there a way to use the real codecs thru xmms or another player? |

kepple, just installed Vidalinux (gentoo based) this evening and was not getting satisfactory streaming through RealPlayer. So I emerged streamtuner and Beep Media Player, edited preferences in streamtuner, replacing xmms %q in both places with beep-media-player %q and am enjoying the great sound of smoothjazz.com as I type this. While I was still messing with Realplayer, I emerged mplayerplug-in and that seem to help some, but still like my current setup much better.
Good luck with it.
