Emerging BitchX without gtk and X

Hi all...

I've got (amongst others) -X -gtk -gtk2 etc.. in make.conf, but when I come to emerge -pv bitchx, it's trying to install a gtk library

How do I mask off the package.. I've tried adding it with an operator >= in /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask, but still no luck

What am I doing wrong?

Adding -xmms to your USE flags should do the trick.
