Greetings,
I am having trouble with totem. I loaded it via the start menu but it didn't work, so I tried loading it from Konsole (in KDE) and I got the follow message...
Quote: | jay@jaybox jay $ totem
INFO (22576: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.6.4
INFO (22576: 0) CPU features: (00000000) MMX SSE
INFO (22576: 0) registry: loaded global_registry in 0.189312 seconds
(/var/lib/cache/gstreamer-0.6/registry.xml)
DEBUG: gstgconf: error parsing pipeline osssink sync=false
No such element osssink
** (totem:22576): WARNING **: No GConf default audio sink key and osssink doesn't work
** Message: failed to render default audio sink from gconf

Does anyone know how to get around this or what it means.. GCONF is installed.
Thanks

Something is wrong in the gstreamer properties:
first start by running gst-registry-0.x (where x is 8 or 6 or whatever you have on your system)
Then run gstreamer-properties and configure the sinks correctly (use alsa and try to test them) |

Looks like it is a gstreamer problem. What you might try is emerging totem with USE="-gstreamer" and it will use XINE as the backend instead. |
