So, I've just installed Gentoo on dual Opterons on a Tyan S2882 board.
So far, no big problems. Grub blah blah blah, so I'm using grub-static. Trying to figure out if gcc-3.4 is stable enough to use, or if I should stick with 3.3.4 that's installed now (probably I'll stick with 3.3.4).
By the way, it's a pain the rear that dm-mod isn't on the AMD64 liveCD. I'm gonna guess there were problems with LVM and AMD64 with that kernel (2.6.5)? 'Cause dm-mod works great on AMD64 with 2.6.7. But it was a pain to work around that so I could install on LVM.
The technotes are good help. Thanks to whomever compiled them. _________________ Matt
