yes.
IDE raid usually needs something like:
boot: gentoo doataraid
or you need to modprobe ataraid, hptraid, silraid, iteraid, or whatever SCSI card you have.
but these all aren't apparently supported in 2.6... you can also set up OS-level raid like i have. in this case, the kernel controls the raid. i like it becuase you can have raid1 and raid0 for different partitions, thus giving some security and some performance. |

Thanks. Sorry if this seemed like a stupid question  . 1) I'm a newbie 2) I had a really tough time getting my computer to work so I was not sure if Linux would work in advance (I'll be sending it back, I should have gotten an HP. Beware of a company called www.cyberpowersystem.com .)
I would have built my own, but I did not have the time. |
