Xtraceroute (traceroute in general), isn't tracing. It isn't even getting to the host. I wondering if it has anything to do with me being behind the router. Ideas? _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

Probably there is something (router...? firewall...?) between you and your target that filters the TTL_EXCEEDED icmp packets that are sent back to you... _________________ In God we trust. All the others must provide a valid X.509 certificate |

You might want to have a look at tcptraceroute and the more advanced lft (both are to be found in portage under net-analyzer). They send TCP SYN packets instead of UDP/ICMP echo packets and should work fine behind more restrictive firewall setups. |

I had this issue with mtr (mytraceroute) a while ago. The only change I can think of making is disabling my iptables firewall. _________________ Folding@home -Join the Linux team (163)! |
