I am using VMware to install the gentoo. In first time, I assigned 10G to /, but the real size "system" got is 4G . This caused me to use up all space but not finished installing yet. So, in second time, I configured 2 hard-drivers in which all partitions are assigned exact 4G, and it finally worked. I never met this problem when I installed the RH and Magic linux. Does anyone know the reason why I failed to install successfully in the first time? _________________ I think, therefore I am! |

VMWARE does mess with the actual disk assignment a bit, since it only marks space in use when it actually is.
One thing you can try is to create a virtual disk with a fixed size - it will always take up that much space, but it was the only way I could get FreeBSD to install on it without crashing. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
