bah, Far Cry didnt impress me - was fun to fool around with, but i got sick of it after awhile, felt boring to me a lot of times... anyways, what id really like to see be worked on is Sims 2 support - you think they wouldev already had support for it |

Whats the deal with Far Cry anyway? Is it just a nice looking FPS? I didn't really pay attention to its release. |

Far Cry is a *very* nice looking FPS. Gameplay is good too -- you do get to ride around in vehicles (including boats and a hang glider). Best of all, enemy AI is freaky, and going in with guns blazing is almost always a bad idea, at least for a amateur like me. |

I found farcry boring after dealing with those stupid ape creatures for like 20 levels. I just got bored. The beginning of the game was great, ride around in a jeep and run people over. I kept on playing for awhile hoping to get to some more cool stuff, but eventually lost interest. And the story... oh... nm _________________ Understanding is a three-edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth. --Kosh

Even with this new version, I still can't get Far Cry working. Should I use the OpenGL renderer or the D3D9 renderer? Should I use the Loki installer or just try to work with the one on the cd? |

My guess si D3D, since FarCry is not OpenGL (I think). |

Heh, well, I'll share what I have figured out so far. The D3D9 renderer is the supported one. I installed Far Cry via the Loki installer, so it is automatically nocd patched and upgraded to 1.1. I have a Geforce 6800, so everything is set to veryhigh. Unfortunately, whenever I start a level, the camera appears in a weird place, and whenever I move the mouse, It appears in a different weird place sometimes across the island. Weird. |
