hi,
I'm using a 2.6 kernel with sun java 1.5 64bit on an amd64 gentoo with azureus for Bittorrent. After some time azureus causes errors saying "too many open filesystems" But how can that happen?
I found the following in an article"Linux with the 2.6 kernel no longer requires you to set what the limit is in advance; this number now self-scales". file-nr says I have 1650 files open, but 101000 possible. I even tried to use ulimit -n 4096 but it didn't work either. Is this a java problem?

I think so. I have the same problem when using bittorrent, but never saw it in any other programs. Might be a java problem, or a azureus problem _________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. |
