This release doesn't need DaMouse's nvidia-kernel overlay; to tell the truth I couldn't load it. The "normal" nvidia-kernel works fine, though.

Everything works here, including reiser4, vesafb-tng and fbsplash (no more corruption

).

u have to enable video mode helpers in kernel to get rid of that

EDIT:- this is the fastest and the most stable kernel i have ever had here

mmm some problems compiling with CONFIG_IP_NF_CONNTRACK=m

Wow excellent release! Not only did my problem of sound being choppy with cedega resolve itself, but this kernel is noticably faster.

No apparent stability problems either... at least not kernel related. The new Xorg likes to crash with all it's transparency crap, but the kernel keeps the system in perfect order.

hmmm...just tried to upgrade from 2.6.8.1-nitro5 and when it goes to get an eth0 address it hangs. I have the Old Becker Intel EtherExpress Pro driver built into the kernel, not as a module and it was working fine before the upgrade. I tried the Intel Pro 100+ driver listed in there as well with no success. Any others have any problems?

Noticeable static when playing midi format on Emu 10k1 based board. Starts fine but after about a minute, it is occurs. No problem with PCM based sound so might be a sequencer problem.

Will recompile without ALSA from nitro and try separate alsa-driver-1.0.5 and see if problem persists.

Coolness! Now gensplash doesn't show the ugly text console when booting for the first two seconds.

However, I do have a question. With this kernel (and some others in the past), when I switch VCs, the screen blacks it self for half a seconds, almost like its changing resolution. It didn't do this w/ the 2.6.8.1 kernels and it would go directly to them, but 2.6.9-pre* has that delay. Any idea on what's causing it?

koutput is not working with this release. I got the following error:
